Youth Swim Team (The Killer Whales)

***2017 Swim Team Registration is Now Open and is entirely Online at:  https://mfc.swimtopia.com

The Memorial Forest Club Killer Whales are proud members of the Memorial Spring Branch Swim Conference (MSBSC). MSBSC provides a competitive outlet and disciplined training program and a fun and competitive experience for all participants.

We are proud and excited to announce that the Killer Whales will once again be coached by Stobie Whitmore. Stobie coaches swimming, football and lacrosse at his alma mater, St. John’s School.  He earned a BA and MBA from Rollins College.   Stobie is an enthusiastic and dedicated coach with a talent for motivating swimmers to do their best.  His expectations are high and his practices are tough, but he keeps things fun; he believes this combination drives swimmers to succeed.

Assistant Coach, Nella Ivie, is MFC’s day camp leader extrordinare who graciously shares her talents with our swim team! She is the ultimate organizer and communicator and a role model for all of us (ages 6-80). She infuses the Killer Whales with energy and competitive spirit each day!

The pool at the Memorial Forest Club (MFC) serves as both our practice facility as well as the pool for home meets.  If you are visiting or are new to the MFC, our pool is located at 12122 Memorial Drive.  We have a very short season (about two months) so practices are frequent and should not be missed.   Practice remains in the afternoon under a slightly different schedule after school is dismissed for the summer.  Swimmer’s must be a member of their home pool in order to compete in our league.  To read MSBSC’s competition rules, go here.   For the MSBSC Sportsmanship Policy, go here Per league rules, all swim meets start at 6:00 pm SHARP.  Swimmers arrive early for warm up.  Our team cap colors are green and white.  Swimsuit colors vary and change every other season.
