Memorial Forest Discovery Camp
For Summer Camp 2010
The Memorial Forest Discovery Camp is gearing up for another great season of fun in the sun!!! Nella Ivie and Gracie Gleeson will be returning as camp directors. We would are excited that Madi Burns will be joining us this summer as an assistant too. Madi has been a camper and counselor, as well as a member of the Memorial Forest Club; we are so excited to have her at camp. We are busy making plans for three GREAT sessions, each lasting two weeks.
1st Session : Tuesday, June 8th – Friday, June 18th
2nd Session: Tuesday, June 22nd – Friday, July 2nd
3rd Session: Tuesday, July 6th - Friday, July 16th.
The camp is closed every Monday; regular camp hours are from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.-Tues.-Fri. A $15.00 late fee will be charged for children picked up after 1:00 p.m.
The Discovery Camp is a family-friendly, neighborhood day camp that provides a fun, safe environment for campers to come and spend time with their friends and make new ones! Camp is designed for children ages 5 through 10; the children are grouped by age, with a maximum ratio of 5 campers to 1 counselor. Your child must be 5-10 years old by June 1st. Counselors will lead the campers through several activities each day, including swimming, indoor and outdoor games, and arts & crafts. A mid-morning snack is provided. Children should bring a lunch each day; however, the Snack Bar will be available at lunchtime. Counselors will assist campers with ordering lunch at the Snack Bar. Fees for campers are as follows: $250.00- 1st member’s child and $200.00 for any additional children of the same family. Non-members are $300.00 for all children. Please indicate on the application any allergies that we should be aware of.
Camp is limited to 75 children per session. Memorial Forest Club members will be given priority IF their registration form is received prior to Monday, May 3rd. Beginning Tuesday, May 4th, MEMBER and NON-MEMBER applications will be accepted in the order they have been received and dated. You will be notified by postcard of the sessions to which your child has been assigned. In the event that your child did not make his or her session, you will still receive notification.
In order for your child to attend camp we MUST HAVE the completed Emergency Release form on file along with your application by the aforementioned dates. Your child’s swim ability will be assessed on the first day of camp. If it is determined that their safety is compromised, an alternative activity will be provided.
